Orangutan's nailing.

When I was watching an orangutan inside the fence, I found one of them was doing something in focus.
I looked into it closely what he is doing.

He was holding a stone and spiking again and again on the tree and that bottom has a nail.

When he saw some breeders doing it, he tried to do and mimicked it.

He did quite a good job.

Orangutan's way of thrilling.

Is orangutan enjoying feeling thrilled?
I never thought about it that orangutan also wants to feel the thrill and enjoy it.
For example, like the feeling from when we do the bungee jumping and riding a roller coaster.

But One day, I saw them from zoo and I realized that orangutan is also looking for a thrill.

Bear catching tail

Sometimes cats and dogs entertain us through acting like catching their own tail.
But what if big bear is doing that?

In this video, Asian black bear is trying to catch its tail.
Maybe the bear is curious about their own tail.

It's pretty funny seeing big bear trying to catch and check a little tail attached to their buttocks.

I think they think it is a foreign thing and not their own part of body.

Camel's tongue.

This video shows how to make a sound of camel.

Camel is putting out its tongue and making sound like doing a gargle.

It has a big tongue and the sound is quite shocking so we can have suspicion about the camel might have physical problems.

But it's only coming from male camel in mating season as a showing off to woman camel.

Ibex hones

Many of a grass eating animals have useful horns to protect themselves from the predator and competition in theirs flock. Its shape varies.

This video shows attractive Ibex with big horns sleeping on the ground.

Baby orangutan.

In YouTube channel, there’s a video of baby orangutan.

One video shows lonely baby orangutan without mother and the other shows with their mother.

Actually this baby orangutan was born on 18th of January 2013.
At first when this baby orangutan was born, its mother didn't know how to take care of baby so neglected it.
So this baby was taken care of by human for one month.
Video during that time didn’t go public so there were no videos left.

The breeder taught her how to breast feed and hold the baby.
She was not skillful but she can start taking care of her own baby.
These 10 videos are filmed in 10th of October 2013 – 28th of July 2013.
Mothers look is quite not natural but love is not second to none.

From 28th of July’s video as the last, the baby cannot be with its mother.

Because I heard the news that that baby orangutan’s mother died abruptly so the baby end up by human's hand again.

Heart shape from an animal’s figure.

Usually we can think of a heart shape means love.
Luckily, I found a heart shape from an animal’s body.
One of them is a part of their body so if you pay a little more attention, then you can see it too.
But it shaped only a few times so if you miss that moment, likely you can never see it again.

A lesser panda's dream

In many different kinds of animal, there is not many of them which have a cute figure.
But lesser panda looks like a doll even though when they are fully grown up.
That's why people's attention is not lessen.

This video shows lesser pandas’ tongues dart in and out during sleeping.

When I was filming this, I thought maybe they were just dreaming about food.

So that's why i edited like this.

Gangster pelican

In this video clip, there is a pelican which was born through artificial incubation on May 2011 and was raised by a human for three months before being returned to the flock.

It was raised by humans so it doesn’t fear people compared to other pelicans. Sometimes marching forward along paths; which were made for spectators while proudly swinging its beak.

Because of this behavior, zoo officials banned that pelican from coming out through the path. Because there is a possibility that it can hurt tourists. That is why we don’t see it anymore.

But I can still see it from the video.
People were freaked out because of the pelican's dignified walk so they were busy to avoid it.

Until now it makes me smile.

Orangutan - Playing in water

There is a small water fountain inside the fence where orangutan lives.
Now and then orangutan is drinking water or taking a heat off from there.

Normally Boseok doesn't pay much attention on the things in here.
But because of the heat we can find it that Boseok is playing around the water fountain.

Even Boseok is only an animal which we can hardly find the expression, Boseok’s happy looking when playing water still stands out.

Orangutan's rebellion

Genius orangutan Bora's power and strong Boseok joined their shoulders together and try to destroy the structure.

Like enlightened ape from the Rise of the Planet of the Apes away from a steel-barred window and smashing everything down on their way.

The work is beginning with destroying the bridge which is connecting between the structures.

They weighed their weight as heavy as the can on the bridge.
At first it seems next to impossible because the bridge is quite thick.
But after a few attempts later the bridge couldn't bear the weight of the orangutans and are broken into two pieces.

Even though the orangutan's victory is coming from the rotten tree, Bora can get a full credit for it.

1. After breaking, Bora was surprised though for a second on what just what happened. Soon Bora approached and looked at the broken tree.

2. When Boseok found out Bora's situation from a distance, he came there straight through. Boseok tried to lift up the broken tree,

But it wasn't easy because of the heavy weight and portion of the tree tied up with another portion of the tree between steel wire.

3. Bora and Boseok has a remarkable persistence.
In my observation experience, when they start having an attention on something, their concentration and effort is become outstanding.

4. Eventually the broken trees and steel wire were separated and rolled down along the slope. Both Bora and Boseok watched it happened.

5. Everyone thought it was over. But as i said before, they don't know about giving up until the problem solved.

6. So Boseok try to smash another structure.
Bora was around Boseok.

7. Bora and Boseok agonized to come up with an idea and gave it another try.

8. Finally the structure caved down. Since the break down, it lasts long time to dismantle the scene.

It's much shortened so you can see limited part of their movement.
Surprising part is that Boseok knows how to use his power in an efficient way through the process of dismantling.

Anubis baboon's fighting

In ordinary day, they are dozing off in the sunlight or walking slowly.
Mostly the fight is going with dullness so we can't easily tell which one is playing and fighting.

But that day, they had a long fight and it was pretty aggressive.

Through chasing we can see how active they are.

Orangutan's escaping plan.

One day, I caught the scene when Bora was trying to escape from the fence.
It seems like Bora was trying to lean a broken tree against the wall so she can climb through the tree over the fence.

According to Frans B.M. de waal, who are studying and have written a few books about chimps, other chimps also appeared using a broken tree to go over the fence.

For that reason, we can understand orangutan has a great ability on how to use a tool and adapt a situation.
As well as they can learn from an experience by growing up.

Will Bora make it?

Hamadryas baboon's grooming.

Often we can see monkeys which are grooming each other’s hair and taking something from it and putting it in their mouth and munching.

Who has seen it, nine out of ten most likely think monkeys is catching lice.
In some cases they are actually catching lice but in the monkey's society, it means a lot.

It means having close bonding with each other.

Therefore the monkey which got a grooming from another seems greatly peaceful.

Anubis baboon's fighting.

There is a fight between male Anubis baboons.
They meet face to face and yell at each other.

It’s not a fight to show serious damage but enough to show off each one’s power.

Chimp's run erect.

The most distinct difference between human and anthropoid ape such as chimp, orangutan and gorilla is the way they walk.

Normally we can stand with only two feet.

The reason humans can walk erect is that we can get more benefits with two feet from looking over the bush.

In other words, if other anthropoid needs it, they can do too?
In the video, you can see Yongyong which runs erectly towards the chimpanzee tower.

Of course, it doesn’t look like how humans run.
It looks a bit ridiculous so some of them look funny about it but the speed was really faster than we expected.

If walking erectly is the premise for living on the ground, how many generations an anthropoid in the zoo need?

Cause they spent more time on the ground than the other wild anthropoid.
